But as it is just using KVM, there is a bit of info. unRAID isn't used enough to have much info about specific use cases out there. For performance you might want that, but it'll run fine without it. unRAID, however, is just KVM, so it is all the same specs as that. Full disclosure it has been over a year since I built a UnRaid system. One other thing is you must have different brand keyboard for each VM. If you plan on loading more than one VM on same system you may want to look at adding a Add in USB card. Now you may want to look at AMD videocards as they allow you to use the pro style driver on all ,but the lowest level cards. you may very well have to go with the 60 or NVS series(I hate them,but with NVidia only way to get the pro drivers for cheap.) series or above. I might also check I 50 series of video cards do not support any form of virtualization. In lots of gaming motherboards it is turned off to speed up boot times. Check and make sure virtualization is turned on in the motherboard. He has done 4 and I believe a 12 person workstation. Though I normally don't recommend viewing his stuff when it comes to serious IT. VNC and not direct console is working because it does not use the video card driver, but it's own driver much like RDP. The OS needs to only see one card of that VM will fail at video drivers. For the OP more than likely what I happening is Windows 10/Nvidia driver is trying to use both cards. They have successfully ran it on AMD virtualizations, and Intel I5s. UnRaid only really requires a minimum of 2 cores per VM, but 4 is recommended. You are wrong that is exactly what UnRaid is primarily used for. So, just a guess, maybe Ryzen doesn't support this use case. As Ryzen is very new, I suspect you are one of the first trying this. Just going to guess here as this is a very rare issue, as this kind of thing is not really something that this technology is used for so you are in a very niche space, but IOMMU isolation requires processor support and generally this requires a Xeon.
